Google Begins to Ban hCG Hormone and Weight Loss

As of Friday June 3, 2011.

If you haven’t discovered this, yet, Google is suspending accounts that lead to Websites and Landing Pages that promote hCG for Weight Loss, whether or not your hCG is truly hCG Hormone, Homeopathic or any other product that reflects the name HCG. The terms hCG and Weight Loss in your content will flag your account for suspension. Simply using the terms hCG in anyway will bring scrutiny. This action has been prompted by a notice sent to Google by the FDA. In this notice Google was asked to cooperate in removing websites from search results that contained any promotional language relating hCG Hormone to Weight Loss. Google has begun to suspend Adwords Accounts, the next step will be to Blacklist all websites that promote hCG for Weight Loss and, last, there will be an algorithm created to block search results and Spider Cataloguing of content with certain terminology.

As you can imagine, since our primary clientele are MedSpa’s and Practioner’s using hCG for weight loss, this has caused us to develop strategies for overcoming this obstacle, assisting our clients from being Blacklisted by Google in Organic Search Queries and keeping you business profitable.

As a secondary issue, it may be a good idea to prepare for this assault on Alternative Medicine to begin to effect Anti-aging Medicine, Healthy Aging Medicine, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy and Medical Practices who choose not to honor Medicaid. If the FDA can maneuver Google into changing the manner in which it allows searches to be conducted based on their opinion of Health Care Practices make no mistake, Microsoft Bing, Yahoo and Google’s Youtube are not far behind. As well as bans on the raw materials needed for these pharmaceuticals.

The Best Laid Plans

It seems of all our Blogs, this one suffers most. The Marketplace for medical Professionals is changing so rapidly, it seems anything that is written will be outdated or undermined before you hit the “Publish” button.

Most recently we have heard from more and more Medical Professionals that are struggling with staying profitable. There is no doubt that those who deal with Insurance Companies and the Government are having a more difficult time making ends meet. There is absolutely no problem staying busy but, getting paid is taking longer and it seems that the practice of “Deny all First Claims for Payment” is more and more the norm.

As an aspect of our Medical-E-Speaking division, we have worked to convert Physicians to Self Pay Practices as much as possible. We know, for many, the compassion you have for your patients who relay on Insurance and Government restricts your ability to do this. I am constantly amazed by the hearts of good physicians who simply want to service those who need them. I know countless Medical Professionals who continue to service patients, knowing full well that patient can not pay. Yet, the attacks keep coming, destroying good practices and ushering everybody to the Bureaucratic Nightmares of many poorly run, overly regulated Hospital Systems. Of course I can not condemn all Hospitals either. Many are fighting against the currant in the same manner Private Practice Physicians are. But, we all know Hospitals are more subject to inefficient bureaucracies of Administrators then Private Practice.

This all boils down to Planning a Profitable Practice. We are aware this is not the basis most Medical Professionals want to build and grow a practice. But, in all reality, if you are going to serve you patients well, remaining in business is a significant piece of the puzzle. A Medical Practice must have a higher degree of Empathy toward those they service then most other businesses but, that need not be at the expense of profitability. The key is to plan for an ever changing environment. Know that you are in rough waters, so to speak, and that a constant adjustment to your sails will be necessary.

One key to creating a successful practice today is to add services that encourage Self Pay with the ability to generate what is needed for the Patient to be reimbursed. These services can add to the financial well being of a practice by also creating incentives, discounts, or additional free services for patients who will sign on. Think, if half your current patients paid for the service when it was performed, and they dealt with their Insurance Company, what would that mean to your Cash Flow and Collections issues? What might you save in Variable expenses if you didn’t need the top heavy staffing today’s environment requires?

Of course we suggest that you hire a company, such as ours, to assist in this environment. This takes the pressure off of the Practitioner to simply practice good Medicine, allow us to assure the ship continues to steer in the right direction.
